Performance
Catherine is a versatile lyric soprano praised for her seamless transitions between the rigors of grand opera, the intimacy of the classical symphony, and the contemporary demands of new music and musical theatre. She is equally at home delivering the ethereal innocence of Mahler’s Symphony No. 4 as she is navigating the technical complexities of 21st-century operatic and new music repertoire.

Her career is marked by a global perspective as a young artist, enjoying apprenticeships across Europe and Asia, with credits in Italy, the Netherlands, Germany, Austria, England, and Hong Kong. Professionally, she has enjoyed acclaimed seasons with Opera Theatre of Saint Louis, Central City Opera, Wexford Festival Opera (Ireland), and the former Opera Boston. On the concert stage, Catherine has appeared as a soloist with the MIT Symphony Orchestra, MSU Wind Symphony, and the Pittsburgh New Music Ensemble.

Currently based in the Lowcountry, Catherine is a frequent collaborator within the local arts landscape, appearing with Charleston Opera Theater, the former HALO (Holy City Arts and Lyric Opera), and Small Opera.
Teaching
Catherine’s pedagogical expertise is rooted in her Doctoral and Artist Diploma studies at the University of Michigan and Indiana University, where she held competitive Graduate and Associate Instructorships. This advanced training, combined with her graduate work at the New England Conservatory, allows her to bring a high level of academic rigor and performance experience to her students.

Her students have graced many of Charleston’s stages, from full productions in the Sottile, Queen Street Playhouse, and Dock Street Theatre, to smaller productions and gigs throughout the city.
